Herald is an expert in the fields of financial engineering and sustainability and has a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors. His deep understanding of finance, policy making, sustainability, real estate development, and private equity has earned him a reputation as an international speaker and moderator.

Herald's impressive career includes serving as CEO of Malta Government Investments and Director General within the Ministry for Finance, where he was responsible for financial policy and management. He has also been a member of several high-level European Union fora, such as the Financial Services Committee and the Tax Group. In addition, he has led large-scale national projects like the census of population and housing. He was also responsible for setting up a network of sovereign wealth funds in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Currently, Herald serves on the board of directors of various international companies, including those in the oil and gas industry, immersive experiences, and trade finance facility. He is also the chairman of the Maltese Turkish Business Council and co-chairs the real estate and urban development chapter of the World Association of Public Private Partnerships.

In 2024, Herald launched the Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Malta, where he serves as Secretary General and a member of the board of administrators. Additionally, he is the head of operations within a pan-European real estate development group that has a hospitality arm and advises a foundation responsible for affordable housing.
